East
This week will be the final learning pack based on Japan. However, on the DDAT website I have seen some great ideas for the holidays. If you click on the website link below there are ideas for each week of the holidays:

It is also important to be active every day. This might be playing in the garden, going on a bike ride, riding you scooter, going for a walk, doing a work out online, dancing etc.

English: Week beginning 20th April 2020
This week I would like you to write a diary of anything you see happening on your street. Look out of the window for some ideas. This can be real or to make it more exciting you can make some things up!
Each day write an entry for your diary and remember to use:
- Full stops and capital letters. If you can, use commas and exclamation marks.
- Conjunctions (joining words) – and, but, so, because, which, whilst, as etc.
- Adjectives – describing words.
- Adverbs – describe the verb. For example – slowly, angrily, excitedly etc.
- Different ways to start sentences – first, later, after, this evening, next etc.
Here is my example:
Monday 20th April
This morning, I saw a lady slowly walking down the road, as her scruffy, brown dog ran ahead of her with its pink tongue sticking out. After that I saw a boy with blonde, spikey hair zooming speedily to the end of the road and then shouting loudly to his dad. In the afternoon I heard a booming noise coming from the sky as a dragon with glittery scales landed in the road, whilst breathing orange fire from its dark, steaming mouth. Next an angry knight in metallic, clanking armour came, jumped speedily onto the dragon’s back and vanished in a puff of smoke. What a day!
Maths: Week beginning 20th of April
On the internet there is a daily Maths lesson on White Rose home learning for each Year Group. This is a scheme we use in school.

- Count daily in different steps – 2s, 5s, 3s, 10s.
- Count daily from any number to 100 forwards and back.
- Begin to rehearse times tables, such as 1×5 = 5, 2×5=10.
- Telling the time using o’clock, quarter past, quarter to, half past. Year 2 telling the time in five minute intervals.
- Measuring using grams, millimetres and centimetres.
- Fractions – finding fractions of numbers – halves and quarters. Half of 12, quarter of 12 etc.
- Adding two two-digit numbers together by drawing base ten.
- Subtracting two two-digit numbers together by drawing base ten.
- Number bonds – finding different ways of making all the numbers from 3 – 20 using addition. 1+4=5 4+1=5 3+2=5 2+3=5

- Year 2 – SATS papers for reading and maths can be downloaded from the Government website. Make sure you look at Key Stage One.

This is a good website and the children could revise any part of the Science curriculum.
